Critical, feminist, abolitionist thinking and practice hang together, and struggles against
oppression are always situated in specific contexts and informed by particular histories and
localized dynamics – even when oppression is powered by hegemonic drivers such as
patriarchy, colonialism, and heteronormativity.
The 2025 European Group Conference in Malmö, Sweden aims to amplify abolitionist practices
– seeking to dismantle punitive, repressive structures and evoke and embody alternative ways
of living-in-relation – by focusing attention on situated struggles in the sphere of activism and
ideas. Submit your abstract (200-250 words) to egconference2025@gmail.com by 10 March 2025.
Please indicate which of the above themes or which of the EG’s working groups your abstract
matches best.
